Fronteres is our next adventure, and undoubtedly, the craziest, toughest, and most special one to date.
Three days and 1,000km to travel around Catalonia, our homeland. Often, we focus on exploring other places in the world, but we forget what we have right next to home.
That’s why, next June, four friends will cross from East to West, from North to South, and from South to North, our beloved Catalonia.
Undoubtedly, it’s the adventure we’re facing with the most nerves and uncertainty. Three days covering an average of 330km. We don’t know how our bodies will react to the fatigue and accumulated hours.

This adventure is unlike any we’ve done to this day, as it won’t be self-sufficient; instead, we’ll have the support of an impressive photographer and friend (@paaaaaaaaaaaaaaau), who will assist us at all times and help us remember this story forever. To minimize stops and logistics, we’ll have a motorhome thanks to @autosuministres.
The reason for this decision is simple: the demands of this adventure are high, and the significant number of hours on the bike will make it much easier.
Day 1: L'Escala - Vielha
320 km 5.600m
Departure from La Escala, ending in Val d’Aran, the most extreme location in the northwest. It will be a very tough day as we’ll tackle 3 very important and long mountain passes: La Collada, Port del Canto, and Port de la Bonaigua. It’s a day to take it very calmly since motivation and eagerness can push us to a pace that might penalize us for the following two stages.

Day 2: Vielha - Amposta
323 km 3.500m
The second stage will take us to traverse Catalonia from north to south, following the Ebro river at all times. It will be, in principle, the lightest stage of the three, but surely the wind could penalize us.
Day 3: Amposta -L'Escala
332 km 2.500m
Last day, but the route, although it may not seem like it, is extremely tough. We will trace the entire coast of Catalonia where we can enjoy incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea, on roads as legendary as the one from Sitges or the road from Lloret de Mar to Sant Feliu de Guixols. It’s a stage that instills a lot of fear due to the wind and the leg-breaking elevation changes, as there are no long climbs but plenty of steep gradients.

It will be tough, and there will surely be moments when we’ll only think about giving up, but it will be a magical adventure. The objective, as always, is to enjoy cycling surrounded by friends.
